FengMi Shippers among FengMi's Circle of Friends

YM's childhood bestfriend, Zhao WenQing (a.k.a. as Catticatti on weibo)
FSF and WenQing mutually added each other on  weibo, even though she's not  in showbiz. It only means that FSF knows her in real life.

From left to right: The FengMi Family - Liang Yan (FSF's agent with short hair and dressed in white collar shirt/black pants), FSF, Zhao XiaoYao (YM's agent dressed in a white printed T-shirt/black skirt), YM, and Miao Ge (wearing black glasses).
Thanks to our Mango_cake's effort, we now have a lovely list of FengMi shippers within FSF and YM's social circle. These individuals seem to love to tease the FengMi pairing on weibos.

-------------------------

I swear, I should make a "shipper list" of everyone around them who keep going *wink wink nudge nudge*. Lol! So far we have:
  • Both YM and FSF's agents/assistants/etc (at this point they are just like one big family they're all so close! And they all seem super supportive of FengMi.)
  • YM's parents (haha)
  •  Little kid actress who collaborated with them in Symphony of Fate
  •  Multiple talk show/variety show hosts (e.g. Xie Na/Teacher He from Happy Camp, the ChaoJi interview hosts; and they're all so genuinely gleeful when teasing FSF/YM about it! XD)
  • Various TV stations (ranging from the very gossip-driven Hunan TV to the very proper and formal CCTV)
  • Directors/producers of their movies/films (seriously, YM's DMGD director is such a huge FengMi shipper he doesn't even bother to hide it, and I think recently he and FSF added each other on weibo; YM and FSF's White Vengeance producer also interact with each other on weibo--I think the same guy who FSF highly recommended YM to; and the Da Ha Tao Hua Kai i.e. one of Hua Pi 2's director also gets in on the fun of course!)
  • Their good friends (including one of YM's non-showbiz friends who goes way back with her)
  • Their costars/celeb friends/celeb non-friends (Li Chen, Qin Lan, Ma Tian Yu, Chi Shuai, Chen WeiMin, Tong Li Ya, Yuan Shan Shan, Sammul Chan, Nicholas Tse...)
  • ...and maybe some reporters (...though they are mostly just out to get a good story I bet, plus a lot of them seem to also delight in making up negative news stories about them as can be expected )
...And of course, FengMi themselves who are the biggest hint-droppers when they're in a gleeful mood and can't seem to contain themselves anymore, haha.

Complementary Personalities

Backstage interview on Super Access
From their interviews and weibos, I can tell YM seems to have a heavy influence on FSF.  YM loves to read almost about anything she feels she doesn't know much about.  Her great love for reading gave her this habit to recommend her favorite books to her staff and good friends, which include FSF. The funny thing is YM would lend her own copy of the books with all her personal notes/markings to FSF, monitors his reading progress by asking him to take his own notes and then check on him to make sure he actually read those books. LOL...

YM describes FSF as the type of guy who overthinks, likes to take care of others around him, and also concerns himself too much about what other people’s opinions. His over-caring nature burdens him, according to YM, because he places too much pressure on himself to care for everyone and consequently stresses himself out.  In contrast, YM's character is extremely independent, bluntly honest, somewhat careless, and very outspoken, and she would rather say the hurtful truth than sugarcoat her words. Her straightforwardness can inadvertently offend a lot people in entertainment industry.  She made many enemies with her blunt; they probably didn't easily forgive her for it. As she’s gotten older, YM admits she now constrains her speech and not unwittingly offends people.  FSF is the exact opposite. He may not be a sycophant, but all who met him, ranging from big names in showbiz to random bystanders, commend FSF for his good manners.  He is more of a quiet listener/observer than an open speaker like YM, and would keep to himself even if he feels offended.

In the Super Access Interview (ZhaoJi FangWen), the hosts say that YM exhibits the classic traits of a Beijing girl (brutally honest, outspoken, split insults to people they're close to as a form of endearment), and FSF is the classic Shanghaiese guy (soft spoken, mild manner, considerate). Despite FengMi's very contrasting personalities, their respective traits really complement each other. FSF said in an interview that YM is really good at helping him to 'de-stress' when he feels too much pressure because of her 'happy-go-lucky attitude' and optimistic outlook on life.  FSF, on the other hand, tries to soften YM's blunt honesty. FSF is very meticulous in what he does and YM is often careless in her actions. So FSF said he often helps YM think things over on her behalf.

FengMi met up at a Bazaar afterparty in early December 2010
As of this moment, both denied their dating rumors, saying they are just extremely good friends and treat each other like family members.  I definitely hold more of a conservative view about FengMi relationship. I do believe FengMi are telling the truth when they said they are best friends/great co-workers.  They are too busy with their current monstrous workload to maintain a stable relationship.  Whatever is the true nature of their relationship, friends or lovers, I’m still quite touched by their closeness offscreen.

This part was actually cut from the Super Access Interview episode that got aired. FSF really likes to eat strong-flavored food, especially spicy food, while YM can't eat spicy food and is more like an herbivore. When the host asked FSF what YM can't eat, and he replied "She can't eat spicy food...and she's a vegetarian." Then the host asked YM what FSF likes to eat, but she replied "What I eat, he eats." When YM said that, I felt she definitely made them sound so much like a family! (watch video clip here, scroll to minute 0:58)

Anyway, I'm pretty sure YM knows what FSF likes to eat. I mean they often dined together during Gong shooting. In the blowing candle session of Happy Camp (a popular variety show), I think YM said she wants to give him grapes as New Year's present while FSF wants to give her a toilet (FSF said she just finished renovating her house). Later on, I found out FSF's favorite fruits included grapes and strawberries after reading an interview about his temporary assistant.

Mango_cake’s comments:

I love watching YM interviews in general though, like the hosts pointed out she is always so honest and genuine, she isn't reserved at all or constantly worried about saying the right things. FSF's personality is like the polar opposite of YM but in a good way! I had to laugh at how their "strengths/weakness" paralleled one another's! Hilarious how FSF was like "yeah things were fine..." and then YM goes, "actually no, we didn't get along at all." Lol. And the story of their first meeting...rofl.

Beijing Date: A Publicity Ploy?

Facts:
  • FengMi's Beijing dining photos were released by Sina on February 12, 2011.
  • During the broadcast of Gong, FSF spent most of his time in HengDian filming the Emperor's Harem with Ady An while YM stayed in Beijing to shoot Beijing Love Story with Li Chen and Chen SiCheng.
  • According FSF's weibo and also confirmed by his agent, he flew back to Beijing on February 9 and stayed for maybe 2 or 3 days before returning to HengDian Studios. I think the purpose of this Beijing trip was to do a Valentine's Day photoshoot with YM. The paparazzi photos were most likely taken around this time.
  • Gong began airing on January 31 and finished on February 20.

Publicity Ploy Argument:
YES
  • HunanTV and Yu Zheng are known to use similar tactics to promote their dramas
  • FengMi dined at a table next to a street window which allowed easy access for paparazzi to snap photos of them. Would celebrities who value their privacy be that negligent and openly dine like that?
  • They just seem to know they were being stalked and photographed. The quality and angle of paparazzi photos were too good to be secretly taken.
  • Both YM and FSF's staff seem "too close" with each other. Maybe their staff teamed up to fuel the romantic rumors and garner support/good public image for their roles in Gong and future collaborations. Peter Ho and Barbie Hsu acted very similar to FengMi off screen when they went to promote their drama Summer's Desire. Look at what happened to them now, Barbie Hsu is now married to another guy and Peter Ho is off doing his own thing.
  • A large majority of showbiz "insiders" sees the FengMi romance as a publicity stunt and argues FengMi are too openly affectionate with each other to indicate they are a "real couple." Most celebrity couples are low-key and try to hide their romance as much as possible.

NO
  • The paparazzi photos were released when HunanTV already broadcasted more than half of the Gong episodes. If FengMi wanted to gain publicity for Gong, why would they wait to stage a publicity ploy so late into the broadcast and not earlier like right before the release?
  • FengMi, at that point, were already popular. No need to go through all that trouble to gain more attention.
  • Too early or no need for FengMi to garner attention for their later collaborations. Legend of the Military Seal was still in post production with no hint of being released yet. FSF has not signed on to star in Ming Yun either.
  • I doubt FengMi were truly aware of their newfound fame in early February. So they probably just ate at a table assigned to them by the server without much consideration. I've seen a lot of paparazzi photos of celebrities dining next to the street windows too. Not a big deal.
  • It's so not in FengMi's character to stage the publicity ploy. Both are well-known workholics in showbiz and worked their way up from nothing to gain recognition. FSF seemed particularly offended by the media allegation that he was only playing around with his acting career because he came from a rich family and eventually would have to quit to take over his famiy business. For FSF, these rumors pretty much belittled all the years of hard work he put in his acting career. Why would he wait more than 10 years to stage a publicity ploy with YM to get fame? Why didn't he stage a ploy when he was working with Ady An and Huo Si Yan to get famous? Both of these actresses were equally as famous or arguably even more famous than YM before CP3/Gong.
Here are some comparison statistics someone put together:

YM - 12 movies + 30 TV series = 42 projects
FSF - 11 movies + 50 TV series = 61 projects
Hu Ge - in 5 movies + 15 TV series = 20 projects
Liu Yi Fei - 8 movies + 5 TV series = 13 projects

These statistics are pretty debatable since each tv drama varies in the number of episodes and importance of actor/actress' roles in the projects are hard to measure. Regardless, you still get a general picture.

Conclusion:

There is really too much speculation surrounding FengMi, including positive and negative press. Even regarding FengMi's off screen interactions on a film set, I've been reading conflicting observations. During the shooting of Symphony of Fate in Hangzhou, some onlookers/extras did not see much interactions between FengMi off screen. They both sat far from each other in the resting area and ignored each other while busying themselves with their own things. Some bystanders/extras, in stark contrast, reported that they saw FengMi played games together on their ipads and chatted/joked with each other happily in between their filming breaks. One bystander even observed FSF went to move his directors chair closer to YM when they were sitting too far apart.

In the entertainment industry, it is not uncommon for a good onscreen couple to act lovey-dovey off screen just to tease their fans or at the behest of their management companies to boast their public image. When the camera is rolling, everything becomes an "act." The entertainment industry is a shady place where people are often forced to do things against their principles. Based on my personal understanding of FengMi and their actions over the years before their rise to stardom, it's hard for me to fathom they are attention mongers. It's also certainly possible all the "cumulative evidence" we have to support FengMi romance, in fact, is only our own deliberate misinterpretation.  I don't think we will ever know the true nature of their relationship until one day they both publicly declare they have an official boyfriend/girlfriend. But as for now, we can make ourselves happy by choosing to believe in what we want to believe in.

What do you all think is the "real truth" behind FengMi's romantic rumors?

Mango_cake's comments:

I've wondered this too. Although, this seems to be the one and only time they got caught on a "date" together by the papparazzi, and it happened while Gong was still being broadcast (i.e. they had just started to become so famous), so perhaps they didn't think they needed to be so careful. YM has said before that there was a big change after she got popular in Gong--before she could still go shopping in the streets etc more-or-less anonymously, but now she will get recognized everywhere she goes. FSF was even less famous than YM before Gong. Actually my speculation is this was indeed a "just friends" type of date since it was quite early on (but I personally think they progressed to a relationship shortly after). So maybe they did know they were stalked by the papparazzi, but didn't think it'd be a big deal anyways.

I'm actually surprised there are not more papparazzi pics of them out there! From what they've said it sounds like they used to go have dinner together and ride in each other's cars a lot (but most of this probably took place during Gong and HFCQ filming, when they could still go about their lives in obscurity). So perhaps they did start being more careful after these photos leaked, since we haven't seen anything else since.

Our fabulous Mango_cake translated a few comic strips of our lovely 8th Prince and QingChuan's life in the modern world.

QC: Lao gong (husband), let's eat ice slushie in a bit!
8th: Time for me to display a performance of my martial arts again!

8th: HA! (while beating up an ice block)

QC: Lao gong, how about you let me do it...
8th: (sweating) No biggie, leave this kind of physical work to me!

QC: It's no longer physical work! (while crushing up the ice in the machine)
8th: WHA...?!

8th: What a marvellous thing!
QC: Lao gong, aren't you coming to eat?

8th: (worried) Lao po (wife), you're not going to ditch me because you have this thing now, are you...

Episode 37 Calligraphy Competition

8th: You write with this in this dynasty?
QC: Yup, the writing speed is super fast!

8th: Pfft, no biggie! Can you write as fast as me? (*furiously writes at lightning speed with his calligraphy pen*)
QC: Wow, Lao Gong, you're amazing!

QC: Now how bout we add a bit of difficulty?
8th: No problem!

QC: Let's spin the pen while we write. *spins pen*
8th: Pfft, back in the days I even waved around swords, who's scared of you??

8th: Wha... *gets ink splatter all over his face*
QC: *heeheehee...*

YM's Initial Bad Impression of FSF

Top Photo: "We should add a kiss in this scene." - FSF
Bottom Photo: "Immediately at that moment, any positive good feelings I have of him perished." - YM

Despite their sizzling onscreen chemistry in Gong, FSF and YM admitted they didn't click at all during the early days of Gong shooting. YM said FSF left a bad impression on her after their telemovie collaboration in 2004. They only worked together for about 10 days and FSF already suggested they add a kiss to their farewell scene to leave a "deepen impression" for viewers. YM, being only 17 at the time, felt the kiss was unnecessary and was repulsed by FSF's suggestion.

In showbiz, YM is also famously known as "Yu Jie" (御姐)literally meaning "the imperial big sister" because she often acts very cold/reserved toward people she doesn't know well, and gets highly self-defensive. Once you're close to her, she pours out her heart and soul to you.  So, YM completely gave FSF the cold shoulder when they first started to shoot Gong together. To make matters worse, they both had a very different interpretation of the Gong characters. FSF felt he totally have no chemistry with YM. She felt the same but didn't feel comfortable enough with FSF to talk about their disagreement. Let's just say that YM acted so cold to FSF that even his assistant couldn't take it anymore and refused to bring the snacks that FSF wanted to give to YM.  The situation aggravated to the point where FSF couldn't sleep well at night because he just couldn't immerse into the 8th Prince character and generate the necessary onscreen chemistry with YM.  One night after shooting, FSF went to YM's hotel room to have a talk with her and resolve their differences. FSF said they talked for 2 hours and YM openly bashed his melodramatic acting...LOL.

After their long talk, they felt both more comfortable communicating with each other about any problems/issues. FSF got a better good grasp of the 8th Prince character. FengMi gained rapport, and finally the much needed onscreen chemistry we saw between 8th Prince and QingChuan in Gong. Yu Zheng also said that after FSF and YM's long talk, FSF asked if they could re-shoot all his scenes, which they did. Later on, FengMi clicked so well that many adorable scenes in Gong were actually ad libs (i.e. that imperial garden scene where 8th Prince was released from prison and he went to see QingChuan and grabbed her hands to put on his cheeks was an impromptu gesture that FSF did on the spot and not written in the script. YM reacted to this ad lib by pinching his cheeks. The second kiss in the imperial kitchen was also an ad lib by FSF...LOL...YM was caught off guard by his 2nd kiss.)

Imperial Kitchen Scene where FSF added an impromptu second kiss

Toward the end of October 2010 when YM's management company, Mei Ah Media Group, planned on producing a new historical drama about the Warring States, YM recommended FSF for the male leading role. YM felt she has a lot of rapport with FSF after Gong and thought he would be a good choice to play Lord Xin Ling in Legend of the Military Seal. As for FSF, he was very grateful of YM's recommendation and the  opportunity to work with a very renown drama director in China.

Mango_cake's comments:

And lmao at whoever put together those pics with the captions..."我瞬间对这个人的印象好感全无"... Seriously that line is never going to get old. But if that is indeed the scene (seems like it), what was FSF thinking?! How did he expect to add a kiss scene through those huge prison bars, rofl. At least it happened right at the end of filming so he didn't have to suffer through YM's cold shoulder treatment until 7 years later.

Gong Cast Interview on HunanTV

This interview was conducted on January 2, 2011 before Gong was released. The three main cast of Gong got invited by Hunan TV to do an hour long interview where they talked about BTS fun.

Watch Interview (partially English subbed on Viki)

Some observations made by Mango_cake:
  • After the host shows a photo of FSF carrying YM in the "peach blossom pavilion" scene in Gong, FSF exclaims "Look how happy I am!" gleefully.
  • After the host shows a photo of YM and Mickey holding hands during their "dance scene" in Gong, FSF remarks (teasingly) "And they're even holding hands..."
  • Also after that "FSF carrying YM" pic was shown, FSF says YM was so easy to carry, and keeps going on and on about it--he talks about how light she is even though she's so tall, he could spin around several times carrying her and he wouldn't be tired, then he turns directly to YM and says "Really, you are the lightest person I've ever carried!" in a sort of "praising/admiring"-type tone.
  • The host talks about 4th prince and 8th prince choosing love vs. power in Gong. Then she asks YM what she thinks FSF/Mickey would pick (ie love or their career). YM says, "I know FSF will pick his career!" Upon which FSF turns around to YM and says "Not necessarily...how do you know?!"
  • The host mentions how they film so often in HengDian; FSF says to YM "We should buy a house there!" YM jokes: "You buy and I'll live in you guys house!"
  • Previously in the show, they talk about the nicknames for each other. FSF calls YM "Mi Jie", i.e. "older sister Mi" (although this seems to be mostly in public--in the same interview he just referred to her as "Mi" and he's also called her just "Mi Mi" in other interviews). Since FSF is actually older than YM the host asks about it, he explains that it was a joke at first because everyone calls her that, then over time it became an "ai chen" (directly translates as "love name" in Chinese but the meaning is more like a "pet name"). At the end of the show when YM's fan (a guy) comes up to ask YM questions, in his first comment he also calls YM "Mi Jie" (since it is what her fans typically call her). FSF immediately cuts in asking (also sounding a tad jealous IMO) "How come you call her Mi Jie too?!" YM then turns to him and explains that it is what her fans typically call her. (And I feel like FSF should know this since he even said it started as a joke due to other people calling her that, but he seemed to forget about this detail during his initial reaction!)
  • When YM's fan is giving her the gift, FSF is hovering right behind the guy watching the whole thing intently for a good 2 full minutes (reminding me of an overprotective boyfriend haha), leaving his own numerous gifts to the side forgotten.
  • At one point the host talks about the nicknames for fans. e.g. FSF fans are called "Feng Ling" ("windchimes"), YM's fans are called "Mi Feng" (bees). After the host mentions this, YM turns to FSF and in the background you can hear her ask, "Aren't my fans 'Feng Mi' (honey) "? FSF corrects her saying, "No, 'Feng Mi' are our fans." And they both don't sound annoyed by it, FSF actually sounds a bit proud and happy when he mentions "our" fans. So clearly FSF is very aware of the fans of their pairing, and YM got confused about her fans vs YM/FSF fans (of course the two terms are very similar, just "flipped" from one another, but the term "Mi Feng" has been around for much longer and she's always seemed to be very aware of her fans).
  • At the end of the show, there's a segment where a fan of each actor comes up to ask questions and give a gift to them. FSF's fan recommends a restaurant that he should go to. FSF says, "It has to be strong-flavoured!" The fan says it is, and then FSF turns to YM...we can't hear exactly what he said but it certainly seemed like he was suggesting to her that they go together...and it didn't seem like he included Mickey in this conversation! (Like a number of their other discussions in this interview where poor Mickey was ignored...) I also wonder if he asked the question about the restaurant because he himself likes to eat strong-flavoured food or if YM does.

Gong/Palace Anniversary

The following is written our very beloved Mango_cake:

Oh my god, I'm dying right now...this is so cute! So apparently, Gong started filming on Jul. 13, 2010. Because YM just posted this on her weibo:

"Last year's today, it was the first day of filming for "Gong". This year's today, us two once again start filming together. Happy one-year anniversary, hope it goes well!" (Along with a cute mischievous laughing smiley and a victory sign smiley, like what they're doing in the photo she posted along with it...).

She didn't name FSF of course (she never does), but who else could it be? (YM and FSF are filming Hua Pi 2 together today.) She even publicly wished them happy anniversary!!! (For "filming" of course, but we all know they just use that as a cover-up...see FSF saying "we are often together...filming!", "Whenever I look at YM I get the feeling of falling in love for the first time...during filming I mean!" )

Haha, YM is having a harder and harder time trying to contain herself lately! Meanwhile FSF is still being super quiet on his weibo (the complete opposite of what it used to be, where FSF would post cute stuff all the time while YM rarely posted anything about them). I guess he's happy having YM doing all the sweet-talking lately...

Edit: Ok nevermind, FSF just broke his silence by replying to YM's post saying "One whole year!" ...along with a laughing smiley, a thumbs up smiley, and a cake smiley. Looks like some people will be celebrating today...

Seriously, can they be any cuter?? (Of course, it's kind of ironic that YM actually hated FSF a year ago, lol...what a difference a year makes!)

Comments: I think the reason for FSF's lack of weibo postings recently is because his mom has been secretly checking his weibo everyday. LOL. I guess he doesn't want his mom to read too much into his own private life.

FengMi's live phone conversation at an award ceremony

I'm used to see FSF looking awkward and flustered in interviews. Are you interested in seeing the usual articulate and eloquent Yang Mi looking flustered and nervous? LOL. I laughed so hard when I watched this video  last March when YM attended the Yule Da Dian Ceremony. I usually don't get to see Yang Mi loses her calmness.

English Translation:
Host: After Gong aired, you've been in a transitional phase of improvement and a hectically busy phase as well. Not only were you busy attending countless events, you were busy figuring out how to deal with the issue you have with Shaofeng. [he laughs]
0:15
Host: I'm getting to the most important point.
Host: So you and FSF got awarded today
YM: Yes.
Host: It was decided for you to come here after you consulted with him?
YM: En...Yes...Haha…
0:22
Host: You consulted with him, right?
YM: No, no, no…We never consulted each other. It's because he's currently busy and not in Beijing at this moment.
Host: We know each other pretty well; there's no need for you to blush so hard?
YM: I'm not...
0:36
Host: Why don't we do this, let's give Feng Shaofeng a call, shall we?
YM: Okay
Host: We can let him say his acceptance speech. Shall we see what he has to say?
YM: Okay
Host: Did the call go through? Hello? Hi Shaofeng
0:49
FSF: Hello
Host: Hi Shaofeng, I'm DaZuo, Yang Mi is here at my side. A moment ago, you two just received a TV series award, did you know about it?
1:00
FSF: Yes, I know. I heard about it.
Host: Do you have an award acceptance speech you would like to make?
FSF: En...I'm very grateful toward Yule XianChang for giving me this award, but it's unfortunate I have to shoot a drama today and couldn't go get the award [myself]...It happened my good friend Yang Mi can get the award on my behalf. I wish everything will run smoothly at the Yule Award Ceremony.
YM: [While FSF talks, YM continuously nods her head in approval]
1:24
Host: En, yes. Actually that was just the prologue. What we are more concerned is...do you have anything you want to say to your "good friend"?
FSF: She's there?
Host: She's here! Come, say something.
1:33
YM: En...[coughs]
FSF: En...What's wrong? [note: FSF didn’t greet YM with a hello at all, which is really informal and personal in Mandarin, but immediately jumps to a question] What does the award plaque look like?
YM: What...
FSF: What does the plaque look like?
YM: Aiya..It looks pretty good. Just wait two more days till I see you and I'll give it to you. I'll just keep it for you this next two days.
FSF: Is it glass or metal? Then...tomorrow when I'm back in Beijing, I'll drop by your place to pick it up when you're available.
1:53
YM: [She's looking shocked and stares at the host. The audience laughs] No, it's because in two more days we have a press conference for a new TV series; we have work together.
FSF: [He cuts YM short] Yes, I know, it's Fu Hu Zhuan Qi
YM: I'm talking to the friends [audience] here...and...I'm explaining to everyone, so they won't have any unnecessary misunderstanding. [She stutters a little]
2:10
Host: We're not misunderstanding …
FSF:What...The more you explain, the MORE THAT [people misunderstand] It’s fine! [also roughly translated as "Forget it"]
[Audience roars with laughter]
YM's reaction when FSF told to cease her explanation of "their relationship"
2:13
YM: [She smiles sweetly but embarrassingly]
Host: Ai! Feng Shaofeng, let me ask you something. Everyone right now is very concerned about this. We don’t see it as just mere gossip to satisfy our curiosity. We sincerely hope the best for you two. Do you understand my intention? How do you really feel? Please give us your stance, Shaofeng.
2:30
FSF: [We're] as good as in the drama, don’t interrupt. [We're] good in the drama. Everything’s good. Everything’s good.
Host: Everything’s good, huh?
FSF: En.
Host: What’s good about everything?
FSF: I’m going to go shoot [a scene]
2:40
YM: It’s not like you’re here anyway.
FSF: Ah?
YM: I said it’s not like you’re here anyway, so you don’t have to….I said you’re not here at the award ceremony anyway, so you can say whatever you like. Can you contain yourself [meaning can you be more discreet]? Just a tiny bit. [FSF starts to chuckle] There are a lot of people here.
YM reminds FSF "There are a lot of people here"
FSF: I…kekekekeke
[Audience bursts into laughter]
Host to YM: Say something
YM: Go film your scenes! Go! Go! Go quickly!
FSF: En~ Okay~En~En~Okay-le
[The audience roars with laughter and applauds]
YM tilts her head downward in embarrassment as FSF bids his goodbye with “En~ Okay~En~En~”
3:12
Host: There's no need for me to say anything more. When we are in a casual conversation, this would often come up "En. Okay. En. Okay"
YM: So pretentious!
Host: I'm joking. Actually, you explained this issue [her romantic rumors with FSF] numerous times already.
YM: Right, right.
Host: Right. Since we're here today, do you want to say anything? FSF's stance is "En. It's good. Okay." How about yours?
3:37
YM: No, it just that we know each other so well. And sometimes he would often...well...he's the type that gets easily sensible...very easily sensible...while I'm very rational, so I would often have to hold him back. I have to control a bit of his sensibility. Otherwise, once he's in the mood, he'll say random things or whatever he likes.

It was later revealed on FSF's weibo (microblog) he didn't realize the phone conversation was broadcast live on national TV!  ROFL.

Mango_cake comments:
I'm definitely used to YM being very composed in interviews so that was certainly a change! She's even more adorable when she's flustered and embarrassed, hehe. It's certainly another suspicious-sounding interview--once again FSF doesn't deny anything and just gives an evasive, ambiguous answer. And YM seemed so nervous about him giving something away...if there was nothing to hide why would she have to tell FSF to be more careful in his answers, or explain that she has to tell him to "hold back" sometimes because he will just say whatever he's feeling without thinking.

Though maybe she is just aware of all the crazy rumours about the two of them and doesn't want him to say anything to fuel the fire and have them to get out of hand, who knows.

Some Minor FengMi Tidbits

Notice anything special about the down jacket YM is wearing?

It's because the jacket belongs to FSF!  FSF once said in an interview that this down jacket was custom made to his design/specifications (the reversible jacket has a distinctive army woodland pattern on one side and a glossy weather proof material on another side). This past winter, he was often photographed wearing the jacket throughout the shooting of Hou Gong ("Royal Harem") with Ady An and the paparazzi also snapped photos of him wearing it as well. Plus, the jacket YM wore looked too big for her since she needed to roll up the sleeves. The down jacket that YM usually w can seen in the Gong 2 promotional video. I forgot the brand of YM's jacket. I think it's a European brand. Some fashion experts on the FengMi forum analyzed their clothing and pointed out it before.

I can't help but admire FSF's considerate nature. I notice he is always looking after YM to make sure she's not tripping or falling. During Gong 2 promotional photoshoot, for instance, FSF held out his hand for YM even when he was still in his original sitting posture as she decended from mid air.  Mickey He, on the other hand, immediately walked away once his part was done.

Hunan TV Promo Video

Right before Hunan TV Chinese New Year Lantern Festival Celebration Show back in mid-Februrary, FengMi shot a short, but very sweet promotional video for the TV station.

FSF Gave YM a Big Surprised Visit

On Wednesday night (Beijing time), FSF surprised YM with his appearance at the fourth stop of her Shanghai promotional campaign.  She was meeting with fans after the Lonely Island movie premiere and suddenly the event host announced the arrival of a mysterious guest. YM did not expect him to be the special guest since he just flew into Shanghai earlier in the day and had his promotional event to attend that evening.  But he showed up anyway. At the behest of the audience and host, she gave him a hug. I think both were a little embarrassed.

According to her fans, YM seemed genuinely moved by FSF's show of support by coming to visit her despite his own hectic schedule. The past few days have been extremely difficult for YM. She got literally no sleep two days ago and only slept a few hours yesterday. Her atrocious working schedule is really taking a toll on her health. She now has a very bad cold and a swollen lower face due to some allergic reaction that forced her to wear a face mask in public. The producer's arrangement of FSF's surprised visit was definitely a refreshing and happy moment for her.

Pretty much the same as Youku video, but you get to see the hug from a different perspective
YuLeZaiXian Video:
Talks about about the YM's promotional events prior to FSF's surprised visit. This time the camera angle focuses on YM so you get to see her expression when she saw FSF come out with the flowers. See Mango_cake's comments below for more details.

This bouquet of white lilies were bought by YM's fans and FSF gave YM the flowers on their behalf.  FSF originally ordered his own flowers for YM, but they didn't get delivered in time since he was in such a rush.  He didn't even have time to change his clothes from his previous event.

Mango_cake also has a few good observations to add:
I can't help adding a few more cute observations to JoleCole's lovely summary on the blog!

Here's a fan-shot video of the event: http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMjgyNzg5MDY4.html.

It's a low quality vid that's filmed sideways and from a bad angle, but the sound quality is the best available. (The others filmed from the front are all blocked off by the media anyways who all swarmed on stage to film FengMi--and you can't hear a word they're saying because the fans are all screaming at the media to get off the stage and stop blocking their view, lol.) YM doesn't believe the host when she says FSF is coming and keeps saying "Really? You're lying...!!!" After FSF walks up he says he just finished his own promotion (he's the spokesperson for a company that makes tuxedoes for weddings hehehe) and he hurried over right after--he didn't even have time to change out of his tuxedo. (No need to FSF, I prefer this outfit! XD)

At one point FSF asks her, "is it heavy, is it heavy?" YM replies "yes", and then he immediately takes the huge bouquet for her. The funniest part is when the host asks YM "FSF flew in from so far specially to support you in your movie premiere, anything you want to say?" Then YM explains, "No, he did not specially come just to support me, he just came to see me for a bit out of convenience/in passing." Host: "You mean he's just working, just came to see you in passing..." YM: "Yes..." Host: "Come on, seeing you 'in passing' is still coming to see you!" YM: "In passing, in passing!" FSF: "Just coming to see her for awhile 'in passing'." YM: "Yes, in passing!"

LMAO. Together they said like 10 "shun bian" (i.e. it was just "out of convenience", "in passing", "just happened" type of thing). It's like in FengMi's "chao ji" interview, where the hosts asked them about FSF's birthday present to YM (an expensive necklace). FSF said: "I just happened to be in Shanghai, and I just happened to be shopping, and it just happened to be YM's birthday..." (YM even replied skeptically, "3 just happened's??" Because at that point I think YM was just starting to be good friends with him so her reaction to the necklace was "why are you giving me such an expensive present?!" Lol.)

Also, a few people noticed that at an earlier promo event that day some fans gave YM a huge bouquet of white roses, which she then gave back out to her fans as thanks. Then at the later event fans gave her a bouquet of red roses, which she in turn gave to her assistant as thanks. But FSF's bouquet of white lilies...well, clearly she kept that one for herself! ^_^

Another thing I like to add to Mango_cake's observations is that a fellow FengMi fan from the Baidu forum actually attended FSF's tuxedo promotion and asked him for his autograph. But the material they asked him to sign was NOT his own photo but on the cd cover of YM's new single. He didn't notice it at first since they were in a dark place, but when he did, he had a good hearty laugh.

Capture from YuLe ZaiXian Video
YM's eyes look so happy when she said to FSF "why are you so repelled by me!" LOL. The host previously asked FSF if he felt bad seeing YM with such a severe allergic reaction that forced her to wear a face mask.  FSF joked "I shouldn't have come. I'm quite repelled."  *speechless* -_-
Note: maybe "repelled" may be too strong of word for the Chinese characters "Xian Qi," which can mean to snub/to brush off with contempt/treat with disdain.

More from Mango_cake regarding the precursors to the surprised visit as shown in Yule ZaiXian video!

Poor girl tripped and fell [captured in the Youku and Sohu videos] while coming up the stage (I think she's really very, very tired). FSF also referred to YM as his "very best friend" (not just "good friends"), and at the end he says he will definitely go see YM's movie.

YM was asked if she knew FSF was in Shanghai, YM revealed they had been filming HP2 together just 2 days ago but pretended she didn't know about FSF's Shanghai plans: "Really? Then how about you guys ask him for me, does he have time tonight! I'll invite him to watch the movie!" (All while laughing cutely. As a side note, during a previous promotion event on weibo YM kept joking to fans that they should go see the horror movie with their boyfriend so they can hold onto the guy during the scary scenes, haha. And who is she inviting now...? ) Funnily enough while FSF was being interviewed that day he was also asked about YM, and he also pretended that he didn't know YM was in Shanghai as well: "I didn't know, though we'd just been filming HP2 together the day before yesterday. I never got her invitation (to the movie), but if she invites me, I will definitely go support her!" XD (Right FSF, I'm sure you had no idea, even though you planned this whole thing. And YM, I'm sure you didn't know FSF was promoting his own project in Shanghai, even though you later use his work as an excuse for why he visited her during her promotion...)
Throughout the event, fans noted that FengMi were chit chatting away in their own little world while the host talked. Here YM shows FSF the wound she received from her fall earlier.

I found this series of photos that a fellow FengMi fan put together to be hilarious! Observe FSF's body language during the meeting, particularly the distance between FengMi's upper arms.

NEW!
A fan inserted some fun dialogues between FengMi:

1st bubble- YM: "Wahhh~Why didn't u come earlier? I fell a moment ago."
2nd bubble- FSF: "aw...Where did fall? Let me see. Does it hurt?"
3rd bubble- YM: "Right here! Look! It's red and it's all your fault. "
