FengMi Weibo (microblog) Interactions

Sorry for my recent lack of updates! I got distracted with the new Huan Zhu Ge Ge remake and some other Chinese drama. Both FSF and YM have been mostly busy working on their own individual projects and have not made any public appearance together. Not much exciting FengMi news lately. Despite my slow blog update, I do try to keep up with their recent whereabouts in the "Latest News" page. 

Anyway, here is what Mango_cake summarized awhile back regarding FengMi weibo interactions:

This is compiled from the past couple months so may not be new to some people. The weibo posts are not from fans though, they're all direct "twitter-like" posts from FSF/YM (except the one from YM's agent I posted), although of course the speculation is from fans! However the actual posts definitely cannot be twisted since it's right from the two of them. And just from the posts alone (without speculation), there is a lot of suspicious material there! Numerous weibo adorable posts are related to YM/FSF--which have been going on for months so there are tons, but a couple I remember now:

•  both YM and FSF's agents seem to have a great relationship and wholeheartedly support FengMi. When YM's agent thanked the "MiFeng" (YM's fans) for voting for her to get her the Baiyulan award on her weibo, one fan replied saying "What about the FengMi (YM/FSF fans)? We also worked hard to vote for her!" And her agent replied, "Aiya, MiFeng/FengMi, aren't they all just one family?" There are lots of cute "teasing" remarks like this on their weibos that seem to overstep the boundaries of how agents would typically act (especially if the two were not dating). Not to mention their good friends and other celebrities constantly teasing the pair in weibos/interviews/award shows (that have been posted before).
• Both FSF/YM always watched Gong when it aired (even FSF said he never "chased" his own dramas before and felt that it was something ridiculous to do) and posted lots of related stuff (using their characters to flirt with each other!). After the episodes of lovey/dovey scenes between 4th prince and QC aired, FSF posted "Guys will also get jealous..." and then later, when their kiss aired: "How come they're kissing...how come I don't remember this scene...going to flip through the script right now" (Cue mental image of FSF in shock over that scene and frantically rushing to check the script, flipping through the pages to make sure it wasn't just improvised on the spot by Mickey/YM--like he is inclined to do with YM lol!) To which YZ replied teasingly "I added it in secret while you were away!"
• Right before Gong finished airing in February, YM made a post on her weibo stating that she and FSF were just good friends. This caused a huge uproar--I think people were really overdramatic about this (although I admit I have the benefit of hindsight seeing what happened between them from March -> June). Fans felt this meant YM/FSF would never work out and said YM was so cruel to harshly reject FSF who was so sweet to her. I actually didn't think it was that bad--she just said "Me and FSF are very good friends, but that's it! I thank the fans for watching and loving our collaboration in Gong!" Previously YM had also made similar posts to refute the rumours of her + HG and her + MTY (in fact, the post about MTY was even "harsher", since she actually stated that they would FOREVER just be friends and nothing more was possible). However for some reason fans kept saying her HG/MTY posts were much kinder than her FSF post (understandable since it was probably a big hit to take for the fans). She later deleted the post (probably because of all the overwhelming outrage it caused, which I'm sure she did not expect!) Anyhow, the next day FSF posted a weibo saying: "She really is wonderful. She works so hard in her job, she treats her friends so sincerely! She faces all the enormous pressure with calm! She, is not made of steel, she also needs a tree to lean against! Friends are, the fans who love her are! She will forever have that piece of forest that is her own!" (I know it sounds weird in English but is quite a lovely analogy in Chinese.) Because he wasn't clear on who the "she" was in this post, it seems like many fans asked about this (there were a shocking 18156 replies to this post, I'm surprised FSF even read and replied to them!), anyhow, FSF responded: --Ok, first an explanation, YM's nickname everyone uses when discussing "Gong" is "Xiang Gu" meaning "shitake mushroom" (long story), so in this next bit "fungus species" refers to YM...forgive me for not being able to come up with a better way of expressing this in English because it comes across as quite derogatory but is actually a term of endearment for YM--FSF's post: "Of course it's that fungus species! Do you even need to ask! I will always support her! Doesn't matter what happens in the future, I ask everyone who loves me to help me support her!" FSF is not usually this "excitable" in his blog posts (as is obvious from his use of all these exclamation points), but he was clearly rather agitated/angry over this. (Unfortunately, many fans took this as further evidence that YM was being cruel to FSF while he kept on being so nice to her...eventually they came around though it seems.)
• After YM was once again asked about having done plastic surgery during an awards show (where FSF was absent), the next day (correction: JoleCole pointed out this happened shortly after the show, after FSF watched it, not actually the next day) he posted a weibo saying (btw he did not outright say what his post referred to, but seems like it's the consensus of most people that it was in response to the YM plastic surgery-gate): "I can't bear it anymore, I still have to say it, starting from 10 years ago I started to film with her, back then she was already like this, refreshingly straightforward/frank, modest, hard-working! Throughout all these years, she has not changed at all, nothing nothing has changed! The only thing that has changed is she has used her own hard work to prove her own success! Don't keep discussing those ridiculous things, is it really possible? How could it be possible! The innocent one knows their own innocence, don't even need to explain it!" From the description it's pretty clear he's referring to YM, although it may be due to other rumours about her like articles insulting her character. However the bit about her "not having changed at all", and the fact that "the innocent one knows their own innocence" is a phrase YM often uses in response to people questioning her about plastic surgery, might hint at this. At any rate, again with all the exclamation marks and the sense that FSF is angry over it (when usually he is quite good-natured on his weibo). And the beginning, about how he has to say it, sounds like he's been stewing over this outrage for awhile but never mentioned it--in an interview YM mentions that often she doesn't even care about the rumours/gossip about her, but FSF is always very considerate about whether it affects her, to the point where he'll call her friends and agents etc to ask if she's feeling down. And she will constantly reassure him that it's really nothing.
• In response to YM posting a photo of herself (from one of her sexier photoshoots), FSF posted: "...alright, be more "da qi", she is quite beautiful." Where "da qi" translates to being "big", ie "generous/magnanimous/open". Clearly giving off the feeling that he may be kind of jealous of everyone seeing these sexy photos but still praising her.

Honestly, this is not even a tenth of all the lovely YM/FSF related posts on their weibos! In a lot of them they do not outright name each other, but it's obvious they're referring to one another.

And YM has definitely been far more secretive about things (as far as I can tell), but she has her moments too! Also, in the past her weibo posts have always been rather sad (or so I've heard, I haven't actually been following her on weibo till very recently). However, all her posts these days are filled with happiness and love-related stuff...leading to fans to speculate that this is a reflection of a girl in love! ^_^

Through FSF's actions/weibo posts either he has totally fallen for YM, or he is just faking this for popularity or is a playboy/shameless flirt. And a) that so does not seem like his personality, and b) I don't see him being this way around other girls, so I conclude it's the former. As for YM, it is a lot tougher to gauge her feelings. However, as people in the baidu forum have pointed out, her "lack of" action is a pretty big sign. (One of her own weibo posts was even a rather cryptic post about "inaction is a type of action, no response is a type of response...") Her personality is such that if she had no feelings for FSF, she'd have no problem bluntly putting him in his place and making it clear she's not into him. All I see though, is her going along with everything and even smiling very sweetly/happily when he's being affectionate. I definitely don't remember YM/HG being this "friendly" when they were promoting CP3--while they were still close, they maintained a very normal friendly distance between them.

She is certainly better at separating her public/private lives than FSF. I also get the feeling that YM is kind of "rebellious" and hates having other people tell her what to do. So if everyone is telling her she is perfect with FSF and should be with him, instead of admitting it she will do the opposite and stop being affectionate to "spite" all these meddling people! This is contrary to many celebrities who are careful to maintain a good public image--YM doesn't seem to care as much. e.g. when fans got really mad at her after she posted that her and FSF were just friends, she pretty much ignored FSF on her weibo for awhile even though fans kept badgering her to thank him for his vehement words of support. (Meanwhile she did thank YZ for his post of support, even though it was much milder than FSF's.) Similarly, recently FSF and his cast/crew on his new movie were stranded in the midde of nowhere due to severe storms and flooding, losing all contact. While many people and friends posted about this on their weibo's, YM was completely silent on the matter (only after FSF was rescued out of there, and posted about helping the rest of his crew, did YM show support for it). Again, despite the fact that fans kept telling her to post words of support for FSF and some people once again started saying she was being cruel/a terrible friend for ignoring his predicament. Even though going along with their wishes would probably boost her image and popularity, YM simply refuses to do so.

This is a girl who has used her weibo to support various causes and friends (eg I think she once reposted merely for a friend's friend who lost a cat--much less serious than FSF's plight). If FSF was a mere friend or even a casual aquaintance, YM would probably post about it. The fact that she often "ignores" him in these critical times is very suspicious to me. Either there is something more going on (she gives me a "此地无银三百两" vibe) or she doesn't want fans/media to keep spreading gossip/speculation on that matter--I'm thinking it's both! (And sorry, I'm totally doing what YM probably hates by posting so much speculation too...but I can't help it! XD Hey, at least I'm doing it in English so she probably won't be affected by it!)

*In a similar vein to the last FSF post I mentioned: I only read about this in an article, did not watch the actual video yet, but apparently, during a press conference for "MingYun", the actor that plays YM's father in the show kept joking that he has printouts of YM's sexy photoshoots plastered all over his walls in his room and he is a big fan of his lovely "daughter" (lol). YM got embarrassed and turned frosty. The actor didn't seem to notice and was about to keep joking on about this but FSF stepped over and shut him up. (Not sure if the article exaggerated any part of this as some media are wont to do, if anyone has a video please post!)

My comments regarding the Ming Yun's press conference:

I've only seen this part captured in a fan recorded video so the quality isn't great. The article you read probably exaggerated FSF's reaction. He only stepped out of his position on stage and used both his hands to pat on father's shoulders. I think FSF just wanted to stop the father from speaking so inappropriately since his comments were embarrassing YM. If you understand FSF's real character, he's usually the quiet listener and subtle person in public. So his action was sorta surprising for some people. When the father mentioned the magazine name (Nan Ren Zhuang or Men's Fashion) which published YM's sexy photos, you can slightly tell FSF got tensed. His countenance turned a little awkward ...

The video is quite fuzzy and shaky, you'll probably have to pay close attention...
